Wilma Lee (Williams) Wilson

Wilma Lee (Williams) Wilson, 93, of Galatia passed away Feb. 21, 2023, at the Anchor Senior Living Facility in Marion.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday February 24, 2023, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will be held in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be before the service from 11:00 to 1:00 before the service.

Wilma was born to the late Noble and Gladys (Reed) Williams on July 8, 1929. She attended Karnes Grade School and graduated from Galatia High School. She married the late Howard Wilson on Feb. 8, 1947, during her Senior year. To this union four children were born: Marsha Ann, Tommy Howard, Jimmy Lee, and Mary Beth, who survive along with one daughter-in-law, Susie Wilson and one son-in-law Kevin Wilson. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren: one sister, Ruth Norris of Norris City. She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, William Edward; and son-in-law, Edward Bell.

Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galatia. During her life, Wilma worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Company and Craigs-Devillez Furniture Company in Harrisburg, IL. In 1957, she then started Wilson’s Egg Factory with her husband, and later, Wilson Bar W Stables. She enjoyed staying home and working on the farm with her husband and children.

Wilma was a good Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Her guidance and wisdom will be greatly missed by many.
