Timothy (Tim) Wayne Harris, 68, of Galatia, Illinois passed away at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024 at his home. Tim was born on May 20, 1956 to Paul and Ruth Ann (Loveless) Harris. He married Ramona Lynn (Shelton) Harris on December 14, 1979. 

Survivors include: One daughter, Eva Marie (Allan) Duer of Eldorado, IL and one son, Jared (Jennie) Harris of Galatia, IL. Three grandchildren; Elizabeth Duer, Noah Duer and Braylee Harris. One sister, Anita (Ed) Long of Crawfordsville, IN and four brothers; Mark (Melinda) Harris of Harrisburg, IL, Hovey Lee (Kathy) Harris of Crossville, IL, Keith (Nancy) Harris of Equality, IL, and Tracy Harris of Bryant, AR along with several nieces and nephews and his in-laws, Tommy and Frances Shelton.

Tim was preceded in death by his father and mother, a baby brother (Kevin Ray Harris), his grandparents, Hovey and Eva Loveless and Leroy and Margaret Harris. 

Tim was a devoted fisherman. His love of fishing was passed to him by his father, and Tim passed the love to his son as well. He fished in tournaments for 22 years (1984-2006). He hosted a casting tournament yearly at Glenn O Jones Lake and donated rods and tackle to the winners. Tim worked for 28 years at Blankenship-Federated Auto Parts and 19 years at Napa Auto Tire and Parts- Harrisburg. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until funeral hour. Burial will follow in Tates Chapel Cemetery in Galatia with Pastor Thad Galloway officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Tates Chapel Cemetery. Sloan Funeral Home of Galatia in charge of arrangements.
