Shelby Roland Fletcher

Shelby Roland Fletcher, 86 of Thompsonville, IL passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville, Indiana. Shelby was born on August 22, 1938, in Thompsonville to the late Glen and Lora (Grant) Fletcher. 

Shelby married Darlene Fletcher on June 27, 1959. They had been married for over 60 years at Darlene's passing in 2019. He was a very loving husband who cherished his wife. Shelby loved being outdoors and he was sure to have a garden every year. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family was something he loved. 

Shelby is survived by two children, Vickey (Wesley) Sargent of Benton, Eric (Jennifer) Fletcher of St. Charles, MO; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many other family and friends. 

Shelby was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Fletcher; parents, Glen and Lora (Grant) Fletcher and one brother, Shannon Fletcher.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia at 12:00 p.m. with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until funeral hour. Burial will follow in Dillingham Cemetery in Thompsonville with Bob Workman officiating. A night time visitation will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2024 from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia. Sloan Funeral Home of Galatia is in charge of arrangements.
