Russell Dean Fisher II, 79, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Marion Deaconess Hospital. Russell was born April 10, 1945, in Herrin to the late Russell "Pete" and Ora "Jessie" (Kirby) Fisher. 

Russell married Ellen Harper Ham on May 6, 1999, in Marion. Russell was of Baptist faith and when he was younger attended First Baptist Church of Marion. He graduated from SIU Vocational Technical Institute. Russell served his country in the Air Force for four years. Russell was retired having worked for the City of Marion for over 23 years. He had a love for fishing and enjoyed watching TV. Of the mornings prior to his illness, you could find him having coffee with the guys at Hardee's or The Vault in Marion or on some mornings both places. He also loved his dogs and his family. 

Russell is survived by his wife, Ellen Harper Ham; his two sons, Glen Fisher of Marion, Allan Fisher of Marion; stepson, Robert Ham; two sisters, Barbara Thompson, Beverly Dean and many nieces and nephews. 

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Russell "Pete" and Ora "Jessie" Fisher and one sister, Bonnie Palmer. 

Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at New Salem Cemetery in Creal Springs at 12:00 p.m. with Military Rites accorded by the United States Air Force and members of the VFW/American Legion.
