Patricia Ann Duffee

April 28, 1942 — December 2, 2022

Galatia, IL

Patricia Ann Duffee, formerly of Galatia, finished her life’s journey at the age of 80, on December 2, 2022, at Carrier Mills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Patricia was born on April 28, 1942, in Talladega, AL, to Eugene and Ida B. (Hardin) Chapman. She was a homemaker and restaurant owner. She and Doc ran Duffee’s Diner in Harrisburg, and later in Galatia during the early 1980’s. She was known for her neatly kept and decorated home, as well as her neat appearance. Prissy Patty, as she was affectionately known by her granddaughters, wore matching shoes, purse, jewelry, and the face of a porcelain doll anytime she left her home. Pat’s passion was making her family feel loved. They share memories of over-the-top Christmas celebrations, warm summer days swinging on her front porch, late night tv with homemade popcorn, and hours spent playing Canasta.
Pat is survived by two sisters, Sandra Fortier, and Donna Eastwood, two daughters, Sheryl (Kevin) Peyton, and DuWanna Anderson, both of Galatia, 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Peyton (Brad Gall), Jillian (Maverick) Marvel, and Felicia (Kyle) Mortag, and 7 great-grandchildren, Wade and Lindsey Romonosky, Beau Gall, Allen and Ava Marvel, Lucy and Nolan Mortag, all of Galatia, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James C. (Doc) Duffee, two brothers, Gary Chapman and Johnny Chapman, a sister Bobbie Jean Reid, special sister-in-law, Juanita Duffee, daughter Sheila Robinson, Doc’s daughter Audrey Mitchell, and Doc’s grandchildren Rhondalyn Rule and Tracy Torres.
Pat’s family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff at Carrier Mills Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and to sweet friends who sent cards over the years. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at a later date.
