Mary Ann Heusner, 102, of Thompsonville passed away, Friday, March 28, 2025, at the Franklin County Hospital in Benton. Mary was born on March 13, 1923, in Peotone, Illinois to the late William and Sarah (Benn) Townsend.
Mary married Glen William Heusner on February 21, 1948 in Wilton Center, IL. They spent many years on a farm in Peotone, IL. At one time she took care of 600 chickens everyday, cooked three meals and was a wonderful wife and mother. Mary loved painting, gardening, canning, baking and her cats. As Mary got older and was unable to paint she started coloring and really enjoyed doing it. Mary was of Methodist faith and was a member of Peotone Methodist Church for a long time and then later became of a member of Galatia United Methodist Church. Mary was loved by all who met her.
Mary is survived by her two sons, Ralph Heusner of Thompsonville, Lyle (Celeste) Heusner of Ottawa, IL and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; parents and siblings, Edward Townsend, William Townsend, Evelyn Wuske and James Townsend.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia at 12:00 p.m with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until funeral hour. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Thompsonville.
