Lynnan Marvel

Lynnan Marvel, 79, of Johnston City, IL passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Helia Healthcare in Benton. Lynnan was born on August 18, 1944, in Herrin, IL to the late Elmo Farris and Fannie.

Lynnan was married to Ronnie Marvel for 30 years. She graduated from Johnston City High School and went on to get her Bachelors Degree  for teaching from SIU. She taught for many years and then helped run and own Marion Courts Motel. Lynnan liked to read and loved being a businesswomen. She was a great mom with a big heart. She was a member of the Modern Woodmen and Modern Woodmen of America along with being a member of Royal Neighbors. Lynnan was of Protestant faith and attended First Church of Christ in Johnston City. 

Lynnan is survived by her husband, Ronnie Marvel and four children, Theresa Marvel, Kendell (Randa) Marvel, Zech Marvel, Luke Marvel; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Lynnan was preceded in death by her parents and several other family members.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later time. Sloan Funeral Home of Galatia in charge of arrangements.
