Kerry Dean Morris, 73 of Harrisburg passed away at 7:56 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Harrisburg Medical Center.
Kerry was born July 1, 1950 in Harrisburg to Ray and Virginia (Crabtree) Morris. He was first married to Lorna L. McIlrath. She preceded him in death on January 19, 1996. He later married Pamela June Stillwell on July 1, 1998 and she survives.
Kerry was retired having been a coal miner for many years. He began his coal mining career at Sahara Coal Mine. He later worked and retired from Brushy Creek Coal mine for many years. He was a member of the UMWA and was of the Baptist faith and attended Harco Baptist Church.
Kerry loved and adored his family, he especially loved his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Pam Morris of Harrisburg; children, Tammy (Terry) Pritchett of Raleigh, Lynda (Rob) Prince of Equality, Kerry D. Morris, II and Stephanie Hall of Harco, Orbie Hall, Jr and (Patricia Kirkland) of Harrisburg and Jesse (Angel) Hall of Stonefort; sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ray (Connie) Morris of Benton, John (Janet) Morris of Galatia and Jerry Morris of Harrisburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Lorna Morris; two sisters, Lynda Morris and Kathy Goins; sister-in-law, Patricia Morris; two nephews, Shannon Morris and Lukas Morris.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with Pastor Justin Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Webber Campground Cemetery near Galatia. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
