Juanita "Sue" Robinson, age 71 of Galatia, passed away on Wednesday, December 21st after battling metastatic breast cancer. She was surrounded by her husband and children.
Sue was born on April 6, 1951, to Charles "Bob" and LaVerne Jones in East St. Louis, IL. The family later moved to Galatia, IL where Sue attended school. After graduating from Galatia High School in 1969, Sue went on to receive her bachelors in elementary education with a minor in music from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, TN.
While teaching at Faith Temple Christian School in West Frankfort, IL, one of Sue's students insisted that Sue meet her Uncle Bob. Sue met Bob Robinson in 1977, and they wed on June 8, 1979. They went on to have three children, Adam, Erin and Ethan.
Sue had the gift of a servant's heart. Her desire was to love her family, care for them, and serve others, and she did so with tremendous grace. She had an easy laugh, a kind smile, and she knew how to make everyone around her feel loved and special, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Living for Christ was Sue's first priority, and her love for Him allowed her to love others so well. Her legacy of faith will live on with her children and grandchildren. We will miss her greatly, but we take immense comfort in knowing that she is with her Savior, and we will see her again one day.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother, LaVerne Jones and her father, Charles "Bob" Jones. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Robinson; her son and his wife, Adam and Jordan Robinson; her daughter and her husband, Erin and Eli House; her son, Ethan Robinson; and her 9 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Cathy Cosby and her brother, Jeff Jones. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 1 pm at the Sloan Funeral Home of Galatia with visitation from 11 am until funeral hour at the funeral home. Rev Derek Downs and Rob Cosby will be officiating. Burial will be at Hebron Cemetery in Broughton, Illinois. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
