Joy L. Cook

Joy L. Cook 89 of Harrisburg formally of Galatia passed away Wednesday January 11, 2023 at the Shawnee Rose Care Center Harrisburg Illinois. She was born on August 22, 1936 in Saline Co. Illinois to the late Sylvester & Vesta (Cook) Gaither. Joy married Bob Cook on June 11, 1950 in Piggott Arkansas and he preceded in December 2006. She was a member of the McKinley Avenue Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

 

Joy is survived by 2 children, a son Bill Cook and a daughter Rita Cook, 5 grandchildren Mike, Shelly, Misty, Jonathon & Brandon 6 great-granchildren, Darrick, Eric, Jessica, Devin, Alisha, Austin, 9 great- grandchildren Tynleee, Cole, Zeeden, Madison, Zaine, McKinley, Zander, Kade & Paisley, several cousins. She was preceded by her parents & husband.

 

Graveside services will be Sunday January 15, 2023 at 3:30 P.M. at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery Thompsonville Illinois with visitation Sunday from 2 to 3 P.M. at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia.
