Jeffrey Scott Thomas

Jeff was born September 30,1962 in Eldorado, Illinois to the late Jackie Dale Thomas and Patricia (Hicks) Thomas. Jeff was raised by his Stepfather Jim Ledbetter and his Mother Patricia (Hicks) Ledbetter from age 2 years old.

Jeff graduated from Harrisburg High School and continued his education receiving an Associate degree from John A. Logan in Construction Management and continued on to S.I.U obtaining his Bachelors Degree in Advanced Technical Studies.

Jeff was an avid sports fan and a devoted Cardinals fan from a very young age. His most precious memory from his youth was going to Cardinals games with his Beloved Grandpa Harvey Hicks. Jeff and his significant other and companion of 37 years, Susan, enjoyed traveling, thrill rides, and attending music concerts.

Jeff is survived by Susan Alecci, her daughter Ashleigh (Jess) Slone, Grand-son Logan Byron, Father and Mother in- law Michael and Beverly Alecci, Sister Lisa (David) Bradford, Nephew James Bradford and his family, Aunt Gertrude Quertermous, Cousin Ronnie Phillips and Jackye (Jeff) Klope and his Beloved cat and Best Buddy Popeye.

Jeff was preceded in death by his Father Jim Ledbetter and Mother Patricia (Hicks) Ledbetter, Grandparents Harvey and Helen (Spurlock) Hicks and Aunt Marylin Phillips.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 2pm at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, Illinois. Visitation from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm for family and friends. Rev. Dale Martin will be officiating.

Buriel will be at Brushy Creek Cemetery in Harco, Illinois. Sloan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
