Gail Yvonne Harris

Gail Yvonne Harris, 86 of Eldorado was taken home by the Lord on Friday December 15^th, 2023.  Gail was born on June 5^th, 1937 at home in Eldorado, the daughter of Elmer and Bessie Irvin.  She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put the needs of her family first.  Gail was a life long member of Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren Church #2 and the church secretary/treasurer for 55 years.  Gail spent most of her working career in the banking business, retiring after 35 years at the Galatia Bank as branch manager.  She loved to take care of her great-granddaughters and also volunteered with the Eldorado Lions Club. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilt maker.  Gail married Billy Joe Harris on December 28^th 1956 and he survives.  They spent 67 wonderful years together.  She is also survived by sons, Danny Harris of Eldorado and Randy (Michelle) Harris of Harrisburg.  Grandsons, Ethan (Erica) Harris of Eldorado and Ross Harris (Raelynn Boma) of Eldorado.  Step grandchildren, Makenzie (Tyler) Tuttle of Harrisburg and Dylan McDowell of Harrisburg.  Great-granddaughters, Isabelle James Harris, Emma Joy Harris, and Isla Jolee Harris of Eldorado.  Step great-grandsons, Tex Alvey Tuttle and Taysom Kyle Tuttle of Harrisburg.  Nephew, Steve (Donna) Bengle of California.  Special cousins, Marsha (Scott) and Austin Collins of Eldorado.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in-law Lillian Avanelle (Tom) Bengle, her nephew Jarrell Bengle, and special cousins Aurby (Dianna) Falk.  Visitation will be at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia on Thursday December 21^st from 5-7pm and the funeral will be held at Mt. Pleasant Social Brethren church north of Raleigh on Friday December 22^nd at 1pm with internment at the Raleigh Masonic Cemetery.  The Reverend Mark Finnie will be officiating.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Raleigh Masonic Cemetery.
