Doug Wade Rakas

Doug Wade Rakas, 70 of Harrisburg, IL formerly of St. Petersburg, FL went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at his residence. Doug was born on November 16, 1952, in Harrisburg to the late Edgar Wade Crosslin and Opal Hill.

Doug married Vicki (Harris) Rakas on November 23, 1983. Doug attended the Village Church in Galatia. Doug was a man who loved his family. He had a passion and love for motorcycles and road every chance he got. Doug was a master roofer and worked for Bill Ramsey Roofing for over 20 years.

Doug is survived by his wife, Vicki (Harris) Rakas; 3 brothers, Frankie, Eric (Mary Jane), Alex (Kelli) and 1 sister, Sharon (Lester).

Doug was preceded in death by 2 nephews; Jon Williams, Sidney Gottesmann and a sister in law, Colleen Rakas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 18, 2023, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am until funeral hour. Burial will follow in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery in Raleigh with David Felber officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family to be used at their discretion.
