Charles Wayne Heflin, 86, of Galatia passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on June 2, 2024. Charles was born March 30, 1938 to Claud and Theresa (Curtis) Heflin, whom proceeded him in death. He was also proceeded in death by his 8 brothers and sisters, as well as an infant grandson. 

Charles graduated Galatia High School in 1956 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. after graduation where he served 2 years. Charles was a Christian by faith and served as a deacon at Ebenezer Church. 

Charles leaves behind the love of his life, Shirley E. (Crayne, Lowe) Heflin whom he married September 27, 2007. He also leaves behind 2 sons; Mikel Lowe of Ridgeway, David (Angie) Lowe of Eldorado, a daughter, Cristal (Jason) Ridings of Johnston City; a very special granddaughter, Lucy Grace Ridings, as well as Lakelyn and Jacob Ridings of Johnston City, John Mikel, Dustin Tyler and Patrick Lowe of Gallatin County; Megan (Lucas) Weir of Galatia, and many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Sloan Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with a visitation from 12:00 P.M. until funeral hour. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery with Pastor John Hawkins officiating. Night time visitation will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 5:00- 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Sloan Funeral Home of Galatia in charge of arrangements.
